Haven't blogged in a long time... : I'm Sry .
we jst finished music fest nationals and I thought we did great... silver for our first times there. NOT BAD I guess I was too loud in some areas... pretty obvious but I thought i played it well overall.
for the end of the year concert Ive gone through the peices we are playing... I'm playing timpani in both peices so I can't relly practise them much. But in practises I think i'm playing them well. The harder peice is definatly chillers and thrillers because it requires me to change the notes a lot through out the peice other then that Its a straight forward peice. Tuning of the timpani is hard they always seem to change but i've gotten used to it.
today I set up my set again and played for a good 30 minutes of music on my phone. That's all I got today.

practise 6
I haven't blogged in a while my computer is going through some technical difficulties soon to be rebooted! but i did practise last week believe it or not! I went over some kawanas(spelling) peices. Rumble especially I'm very comfortable with the second suite and the Light eternal and rumble on the most part. also played a show in Aylmer last week got me used to being onstage again!...
Practise 7
two blogs in one...
this week after we got bronze on monday i practised the two peices we would need to have ready for wednesday making sure to be ready this time. I went over them twice before playing some piano, learned a song by jimmy eat world BTW, and then a bit of drum set and went back and played them a couple more times...
regards to wednesday... I think we deserved a gold but it still felt like "controlled" much better on my part so that the part afterward would be louder and seem to have more energy and I thought we ended the peice perfectly from where i was hearing it.

Practise 5
I find the whole second suite to be very easy. I ran through the 3 movements (2 for me 1rst and 4th) without any problems. I've been more interested in the piano lately so I've been sight reading songs out of the standard of excellence book. I went through lines 70-100 in around 15 minutes. I went back to the drumset for about a half hour of my own songs (mostly Blink 182 and my band). Endourance is something I could work on. I find myself hitting too hard and that tires me out during afast song and when i play softly I find myself becoming lazy and slowing down. It's just a matter of concentration. I'm currently working on learning accidents by Alexisonfire on the piano (by ear). I would like to be able to play it by next week. Today was a good long practise... makes up for all the practise i did on the break (none) :).

Practise #4
Since music fest is comming up all I worked on was band peices. Mostly Rumble because it's the newest song and probebly the most important peice I play. The Light Eternal can be preformed without any mistakes (easily) I still ran through it twice imagining the tune in my head (and the tempo). Rumble Is pretty much there! There are some sections where I need to worry about tempo, I seem to rush the song sometimes (It gets exciting). Finished off with some drumset tunes with music.

Practise #3 (short)
I came home at around 8... Theres a test tomorrow! So thats what i went over on my piano. I played it through atleast 15 times by mememory MAKING SURE I got the accents in the middle of the peice. Thats all I really did... if I mess up tomorrow I WONT BE HAPPY.

Practise #2
My band played a show last night in Brantford. We played about 7 songs, about a 45 minute set, I we made a lot of new fans they really seemed to like us! Any how I got up this morning and set my drumset back up and just jammed for about an hour. Felt good. However, really need to look into investing on a couple of earplugs...
I didnt look over much music I played what I could remember from Rumble and even looked at the new Pirates Of the Carrabian peice. Still trying to get used to the 3/4 grove and imagining the tune in my head. I find it hard to stay on track of the music because it repeats so much that ive learned to not even look at my music and just count instead but this doesnt work all the time because the rythm changes now and then, but im starting to get a feel for it. I usually get it after the first few days of looking at it it just clicks.
I ended practise with a couple of songs I play with my band and that was it for my morning.
